Self-test for the detection of ferritin levels in whole blood samples( Certificate: TUV CE, Australia TGA)

Iron deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia are easily diagnosed and can result in significant negative health impacts if not treated.

Iron Dedificency Anemia is a condition in which the blood doesn’t have enough healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body’s tissues.

Not getting enough iron can cause iron deficiency. So can losing blood from having periods or bleeding inside the body. Without iron, the body can’t make enough of the part of red blood cells that lets them carry oxygen, called hemoglobin. As a result, iron deficiency anemia can cause tiredness and shortness of breath.

Ferritin is a blood protein that contains iron. This test can be used to find out how much iron the body stores. If a ferritin test shows that the blood ferritin level is low, it means the body’s iron stores are low. This is a condition called iron deficiency

Description:

WHO IS THIS TEST FOR?

You may need this test if you have symptoms of iron levels that are too low or too high.

Symptoms of iron levels that are too low include:

TECH SPECS

The normal value ranges for blood ferritin are:

Male: 30 to 400 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL)

Female: 13 to 150 ng/mL( UFHealth)

But for our test, the cut-off is 30ng/mL,  if the ferritin level exceeds the cut-off level of 30 ng/mL, your result is positive.

Sensitivity : 91.3%

Specificity: 96.2%

Accuracy: 95.1%

Cut-off: 30ng/mL

Reading time: in 5 minutes

Store temperature: 2-30°C

PACKAGE

1 test/box

1 test include the following items:

  • 1× test cassette
  • 1 ×Capiliary Dropper
  • 1 ×Buffer
  • 2 ×sterile lancets
  • 1 × Alcohol pad
  • 1 ×Package Insert

USE PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the test cassette and place it on a clean and level surface
  2. Pull off and dispose the released cap of the lancet.
  3. Use the Alcohol pad to clean the fingertip of the middle or ring finger.
  4. Press the lancet, on the side from where the cap was extracted.
  5. Without squeezing the capillary dropper bulb, put it in contact with the blood. The blood migrates into the capillary dropper through the capillarity to the line indicated on the capillary dropper.
  6. Release the blood collected into the Specimen well (S)of the cassette, by squeezing the dropper bulb.
  7. Wait for the blood to be totally dispensed in the well, add1 drops of buffer into the Buffer well (Sof the cassette and start a timer.
  8. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear.Read results at 5 minutes.

RESULTS INTERPRETATION

Positive: Two colored lines appear. Both T (Test) and C (Control) line appear. This result means that the Ferritin concentration in blood is positive( over or equal to 30ng/mL).

Negative: One colored line appears. Only control line(C)appears. This result means that the ferritin concentration in blood is too low, less than 30ng/mL, your result is negative, it means you may have Iron Deficiency Anemia, so you should consult physician.
