Self Test for the semi-quantitative detection of vitamin D in human whole blood( Certificate: CE, Australia TGA,  Canada MDEL)

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that promotes the absorption of calcium, magnesium and phosphate in the intestines. It plays a crucial role in the balance and metabolism of calcium in the human body and can be used to prevent “rickets” in Children and “osteomalacia in adults”.  Combination with calcium, it can prevent osteoporosis, which is common among the elderly.

Description:

WHO IS THIS TEST FOR?

VITAMIN D TEST is intended for people who are commonly at risk of vitamin D deficiency:

  1. The people who will not make enough vitamin D from sunlight.
  2. If you have dark skin – for example you have an African, African-Caribbean or south Asian background – you may also not make enough vitamin D from sunlight.
  3. Infants and Children from 1 to 4 ages screening can prevent rickets.

Test Specification

A rapid test for the semi-quantitative detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in human fingerstick Whole Blood.

Capable of showing an excessive, sufficient, insufficient or deficient level of vitamin D in blood:

Excessive (> 100 ng/mL)

Sufficient (30-100 ng/mL)

Insufficient (30-10 ng/mL)

Deficit (0-10 ng/mL)

Contents

  • 1× test cassette
  • 1 ×Capiliary Dropper
  • 1 ×Buffer
  • 2 ×sterile lancets
  • 1 × Alcohol pad
  • 1 × Color Card
  • 1 ×Package Insert

USE PROCEDURE

  1.  Remove the test cassette and place it on a clean and level surface
  2. Pull off and dispose the released cap of the lancet.
  3. Use the Alcohol pad to clean the fingertip of the middle or ring finger.
  4. Press the lancet, on the side from where the cap was extracted.
  5. Without squeezing the capillary dropper bulb, put it in contact with the blood. The blood migrates into the capillary dropper through the capillarity to the line indicated on the capillary dropper.
  6. Release the blood collected into the Specimen well (S) of the cassette, by squeezing the dropper bulb.
  7. Wait for the blood to be totally dispensed in the well, add 2 drops of buffer into the Buffer well (B) of the cassette and start a timer.
  8. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read results at 10 minutes.

RESULTS INTERPRETATION

Excessive (> 100 ng/mL)   One colored line appears in the control line region (C). No colored line appears in the test line region (T).

Sufficient (30-100 ng/mL)  The line intensity in region (T) is equal to or lighter than 30 ng/mL line depicted on Color card

Insufficient (30-10 ng/mL)  The line intensity in the test region (T) is darker than the 30 ng/mL line depicted on the color card provided with the kit and

lighter than 10 ng/mL line depicted on Color card provided with the kit.

Deficit (0-10 ng/mL)   The line intensity in the test region (T) is equal to or darker than 10 ng/mL line depicted on color card provided with the kit.
